Ready to Take Your Cleaning to The Next Level?
What is The Deep Clean?
The Deep Clean refers to a thorough and meticulous cleaning of a home that goes beyond the regular, day-to-day cleaning tasks. It involves cleaning areas and items that are often overlooked during routine cleaning and aims to eliminate accumulated dirt, dust, grime, and bacteria. Deep house cleaning is typically performed less frequently than routine cleaning and is often done on a seasonal or annual basis.
Here are some common tasks involved in deep house cleaning:
- Cleaning Baseboards and Trim: Wiping down and cleaning baseboards and other trim around the house.
- Washing Window Sills: This goes beyond a dusting of window sills. Dusting window sills is part of The Standard Clean. In The Deep Clean, we wet-clean those window sills to remove that extra dirt and grime that goes beyond the scope of standard house cleaning.
- Dusting Additional Surfaces : Dusting surfaces that are not part of the regular cleaning routine, such as recessed light fixtures and ceiling fans.
- Washing Cabinet and Drawer Fronts: Cleaning the outside of cabinets and drawers in kitchens and bathrooms with a solution. This usually involves scrubbing.
- Blinds Dry Dusting: Dusting those blinds can be ordered as an Add-on to The Standard Clean but it’s included with The Deep Clean
Deep house cleaning is often more time-consuming and requires more effort than routine cleaning. It is especially beneficial for maintaining a healthy and hygienic living environment, particularly for individuals with allergies or respiratory issues.
How often should you Deep Clean your home?
The frequency of deep cleaning your home can depend on various factors, including your living habits, the number of occupants, whether you have pets, and the local environment. While routine cleaning tasks should be done regularly, deep cleaning is typically less frequent and may be done on a quarterly, semi-annual, or annual basis. Here are some general guidelines:
- Seasonal Deep Cleaning: Many people choose to deep clean their homes with the changing seasons, roughly four times a year. This can help address seasonal changes, such as spring pollen, summer dust, fall allergens, and winter heating issues.
- Twice a Year: If seasonal deep cleaning feels too frequent, consider at least twice a year. This approach can still help maintain a clean and healthy living environment.
- Annual Deep Cleaning: At a minimum, aim to deep clean your home once a year. This comprehensive cleaning can address areas and items that may not be cleaned regularly in your routine cleaning tasks.
- Special Circumstances: Certain situations may necessitate more frequent deep cleaning. For example, if you have pets, you may want to deep clean more often to address pet dander and odors. Similarly, if someone in the household has allergies or respiratory issues, more frequent deep cleaning might be beneficial.
It’s essential to tailor your deep cleaning schedule to your specific needs and lifestyle. Creating a checklist of tasks can help you stay organized and ensure that you address all the necessary areas. Additionally, hiring professional cleaning services for deep cleaning can be a convenient option, especially if you have a busy schedule or if certain tasks require specialized equipment and expertise.
